On April 17, there was standing room only in Northeast Elementary School’s gymnasium as parents, teachers and administrators attended the school’s Spring Concert and Art Show in Amityville.

Pre-kindergartners performed numerous songs under the direction of music teacher Megan Ashe to celebrate different cultures and countries around the world. Additionally, art teacher Nicole Pappas organized artwork from Northeast’s students which were on display in the school’s gymnasium.

Second graders at Northwest Elementary School in Amityville recently teamed up to create their own landform projects.

In this lesson, students built three-dimensional clay models from pictures that show various landforms and bodies of water. As they analyzed, read, and researched different landforms, students realized that there are many different types of landforms and bodies of water on Earth.

Based on their clay models, students identified various landforms and bodies of water.
